UPSTATE NY ARTS 2 WORK FELLOWSHIP
Youth FX is excited to be launching the second Cohort of the Arts2Work Fellowship in Upstate NY!
The Youth FX Upstate Arts2Work Fellowship is a ten-month workforce development program in digital media production being offered in the capital region in partnership with The Alliance for Media Arts + Culture, a national leader in facilitating collaboration, strategic growth, innovation and cultural impact within the media arts field.
Upstate Arts2Work is a paid hands-on job training fellowship program for young adults who are passionate about being digital media artists. Arts2Work provides access to creative careers for those who have historically been excluded from such opportunities, and the program is open to people ages 20-25 residing in the Capital Region who are not enrolled in college full-time, and are currently underemployed/unemployed. Our main goal is to help emerging artists of color secure sustainable career opportunities in the field of film and digital media production. Program participants will be paid a monthly stipend and can expect to be asked to commit between 20-30 hours per month to Arts2Work. THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MONDAY AUGUST 4th at 11:59pm (EST)
The program is intended for people who are passionate about being digital media artists, are not enrolled in college full-time, and are currently underemployed/unemployed. Arts2Work participants will be trained in digital storytelling, cinematography, editing, production workflows, portfolio development, budgeting and more, and will also be mentored through on-the-job experiences while learning from professionals in the field. Arts2Work Fellows will produce short videos, independent films, digital media content, while building their reels, gaining client-based work experience and building community with fellow creatives in the capital region!
Commit 25-30 hours per month to the fellowship - 3 hour class once a week and a once a month 8 hour weekend workshop
Receive a $500 monthly stipend for the 10 months of the Fellowship
Receive a MacBook Pro for the duration of the program with Adobe Creative Suite and Final Draft
A stipend to purchase a domain name and a year of web-hosting to build your artist website
The Youth FX Arts2Work Fellowship program is looking for candidates who are self-motivated, creative, have some experience making media, able to persevere in a virtual learning environment, willing to try new things, and positively contribute to the group. Ideal candidates will be self-driven, should exhibit follow through on tasks, and collaborate well with diverse groups of people.
Arts2Work is a program for people starting out in digital media arts and aiming to be a part of the growing creative arts workforce. The program includes training in storytelling, production and post, industry panels and networking events, portfolio development, and mentored, on-the-job experiences. Arts2Work's mission is to provide access to creative careers for those traditionally excluded from such opportunities — we're here to ensure equity, inclusion and economic sustainability for creative workers, businesses and organizations. The Upstate Arts2Work Program is supported by funding from Advance Albany County Alliance, Albany County ARPA Workforce Development Fund, and the Touhey Family Foundation.
