The 2024 Youth FX Summer Film Program is a six-week in-person film intensive (based in the South End of Albany at the Youth FX Studio Space) where students will learn the creative and technical aspects of digital filmmaking while building community with their peers. The program is FREE for City of Albany residents, and will be led by our Youth FX team of educators and filmmakers and will also feature guest teaching artists from the capital region and guest filmmakers and artists from across the country who will teach workshops!
Our summer program is capped at 18 students, and due to the high demand for the program, we are unfortunately not able to accept everyone who applies. After you submit your application, someone from our education team will reach out to you to schedule a short interview over Zoom, which will be part of the process of determining who our selected students will be. Each student will be paid a $580 stipend for their participation, and will receive two (2) $290 payments: one at the end of week 3, and the second at the end of the summer.

All students who apply for the program will be informed by May 27th about whether of not they have been selected to be a participant in the 2024 Summer Program.
